Educators value the success of all students. Educators care for students and act in their best interests.

There is good reason this is the first of the standards for educators, as it is the most obvious one. How could a competent teacher not want their students to succeed and not care for them, doing their best to help with any problems they may have. The students have to come first. Educators need to constantly push themselves to help their students as much as possible, helping them navigate through the hardships that occur in school.

All I want is student joy and engagement!

 

Sometimes you have to bend a knee to help your students,

as no matter how minor their issues may seem, they are still important.

 

After all, we were all young once too and know the challenges our students face.
